- Maximum Salary: $99,000

Responsibilities
- Demonstrates knowledge of home health care and competency in discipline specific patient care skills, required by the care center for the provision of patient care.
- Coordinates orientation activities of new nursing and other disciplines as needed, within the POD/region, to facilitate successful orientation and transition from orientation to fully productive independent status.
- Facilitates the learning experience to allow mentees, including graduate nurses, to perform competently in their required responsibilities, evidenced by mentoring, coaching and role modeling correct behaviors.
- Provides dedicated mentoring and program oversight to new graduates as identified in the New Graduate Nurse program.
- Assists with identification, education, and development of new and current peer mentors within the care centers.
- Plans specific learning experiences to promote the acquisition of new knowledge, skills and abilities required of the job.
- Performs field ride along visits as needed as part of the orientation process.
- Provides timely feedback to the mentee regarding all aspects of the orientation experience.
- Provides clinical skills practice opportunities for mentees and evaluates and documents correct performance.
- Evaluates and makes recommendations as to when the mentee can work independently.
- Advocates for additional individual training needs for the mentee, as identified.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current RN license, specific to the state you are assigned to work.
- Minimum two years of experience in home health.
- Experience in the development and delivery of clinical education, training, and clinician mentoring.
- Proficient in HCHB documentation system.
- OASIS certification required within three months of hire (internal Amedisys certification if not already certified as COS-C or HCS-O)
- Current CPR certification.
Preferred
- One year of nursing experience with Amedisys.
