Job Description
TRAX International is preparing for expansion of work at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility (WFF) located on Wallops Island, Virginia, and is seeking candidates with technical and/or range operations experience. All candidate offers are contingent upon contract award.

TRAX is a large business that performs prime contractor services today for NASA at Goddard Space Flight Facility, MD, Wallops Flight Facility, VA and the US Army at Yuma Proving Ground, AZ; Fort Greely, AK; and in the Republic of Panama. The TRAX ESHQ Manager is responsible for the safety of WFF range staff, the safe utilization of the range environment, and maintaining a high level of quality assurance of all WFF services and activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Our ESHQ Manager's duties include the management of all environmental, safety, health, and quality activities in support of range operations and launch activities. The ESHQ Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of the WRC Safety & Health Plan and Quality Assurance Plan. This position inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks. He/she develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections. This position also develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the contract. Our ESHQ Manager prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics. He/she monitors compliance with safety procedures; drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings; and ensures material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible. Our ESHQ Manager also maintains records of discharge of, or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience in safety management, safety engineering,
environmental services, industrial hygiene, occupational environment health and safety, or
related fields, plus 5 years of experience managing range projects in a like environment
* Extensive knowledge of state, federal, and OHSA regulations
* Understanding of ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9001-2000 Quality Management System requirements
* CMMI Level II knowledge
* Experience with (52.223-19) Compliance with Environmental Management System
* Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 135 Operating Requirements
* Experience or familiarity with NASA Safety and Quality requirements
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft 365 tools
* Certified Safety Professional training and current certification
* Certification for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)
* Hazardous waste generator annual training certificate
* Certifications as a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Certified Safety and Health
Manager, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Safety Management, and holds an active OSHA
EM385, 40 hour certification

* The work of this position may be performed in an environmentally controlled office environment or outdoors
* Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
* Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted

Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
