Position Summary

The HR Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, and employment law compliance and culture and wellness initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Work with the TA team to manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including conducting interviews, and extending job offers.
  • Facilitate and run new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding process for all new employees.
  • Work with the central team to conduct background checks and verify employment eligibility.

Employee Relations

  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries, providing guidance on company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in resolving employee relations issues by conducting thorough investigations and recommending solutions.
  • Support managers in handling disciplinary actions, terminations, and performance improvement plans.

Culture & Wellness

  • Promote and uphold the company's core values by developing and implementing initiatives that reinforce a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
  • Design and implement employee engagement programs for the studio that enhance job satisfaction, morale, and retention, including events, recognition programs, and team-building activities.
  • Lead the development and management of employee wellness programs aimed at improving physical, mental, and emotional well-being, such as health challenges, stress management workshops, and fitness initiatives.
  • Support and advance diversity and inclusion efforts by coordinating initiatives, training, and communications that create an inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Experience with casual workers and contracts is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices, including employment law, recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other HR-related software.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
