Naval Aviation Data Analyst/System Administrator

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American.

Provide system administration, management, and analysis for digital and paper aircraft management enabling information and modeling systems supporting Naval aircraft. Gathers data, identify issues, and analyze and develop strategies to achieve assigned objectives. Manage the preparation of analyses, evaluations, and recommendations for implementation. Provide complex statistical modeling and analysis. Evaluate existing business goals, team functionality, and cross-discipline cooperation and develop recommendations to improve performance and minimize costs while increasing the overall quality of work, product, or service output. Implement improved systems, procedures, and organizational changes. Employ analysis techniques, including work breakdown structures, activity-based costing, process and productivity improvement measurements, program audits and evaluations, and performance testing to achieve stated objectives.

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Naval Aviation Data Analyst/System Administrator: Pay commensurate with experience.

Naval Aviation Data Analyst/System Administrator Responsibilities Include:



  • Gather data, identify issues, and analyze information from an array of aircraft management enabling information systems.
  • Validate processes for data collection and modeling to ensure accuracy to actual aircraft system operational use.
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative input and analysis of documented activities allowing a continuous process review and improvement.
  • Monitor, control, and apply the maintenance data system (MDS) and configuration management (CM) within the activity.
  • Compiles and analyzes records, reports, and reliability models to assist in determining maintenance/production priorities.
  • Assists customers in the use of information systems and models.
  • Ensures Contract performance conforms to established standards and Government Agency guidelines.
  • Provides timely responses and corrective actions to customer concerns and findings.
  • Responsible for contributing to responses to Government inquiries, presenting oral briefings to management officials, preparing SOPs and revisions, communicating significant issues, responding, and taking corrective action to identified issues, proactively identifying, and recommending new approaches to improve quality, cost, and process inefficiencies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.



Naval Aviation Data Analyst/System Administrator Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Bachelor's degree or qualifying substitution. An additional six (6) years performing work in this labor category may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. An associate degree plus an additional four (4) years performing work in this labor category may also be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years' experience performing aviation administration, with at least three (3) years' experience as a U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps aviation maintenance System Administrator.
  • Must have completed the NALCOMIS OOMA System Administrator (C-555-0049) course.
  • Must have completed the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS) (Optimized) Organizational Level Maintenance Activity (OMA) Naval Aviation Quality Assurance Administration Course (C-555-0046).
  • Documented completion of commercial equivalent training may be considered.
  • Exceptional knowledge of programs and processes required by the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) CNAFINST 4790.
  • Highly skilled with the configuration management aspects of NTCSS Optimized NALCOMIS systems, Decision Knowledge Programming for Logistics Analysis and Technical Evaluation (DECKPLATE), and Aircraft Inventory and Readiness Reporting System (AIRRS).
  • Manage and provides guidance on the use of information systems and reliability models in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) CNAFINST 4790.
  • Experience with developing and supporting Microsoft Access databases, Excel, including VBA, Access Macros, and SQL desired.
  • Experience with the manipulation of data and datasets and the creation of visualizations in Tableau or other data visualization tools desired.
  • Experience with Navy Aviation Maintainer Experience (AMEX) desired.
  • Experience with supporting the development and maintenance of SharePoint sites desired.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of QA project management concepts / techniques with ability to define, plan and execute activities necessary to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to prepare reports of findings, after-action reports, and trend analysis tools to senior leaders that provide constructive guidance to the activity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to establish and effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present persuasively proposed solutions via multiple communication mediums.
  • Exceptional people-management skills with ability to lead / develop others and to promote a team environment.
  • Ability to quickly analyze data / situations, draw relevant conclusions, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate and drive consensus across a diverse group of customers with conflicting priorities.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
