Business Operations Specialists (Subject Matter Expert I*)

***This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance within 120 days after contract award. ***

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen.

Serves as the senior technical advisor for strategies dealing with the long range needs of the Navy. Duties and responsibilities include developing and applying advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex business problems or issues. In addition, develop economic and business case analysis and other financial models, prepare white papers, justifications, alternatives and recommendations, and participate and support efforts associated with developing a Strategic Plan, Operating Plan and other corporate initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits:



  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Business Operations Specialists (Subject Matter Expert I*): $75,000 - $110,000
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.


Business Operations Specialists (Subject Matter Expert I*) Responsibilities Include:



  • Assist command operations in developing, planning, and coordinating operational activities
  • Analyze current workflows and identifying bottlenecks. Work to implement streamlined solutions that eliminate inefficiencies and improve productivity.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures
  • Developing and applying advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex business problems or issues
  • Recommend new procedures for increasing the efficiency of day-to-day operations
  • Maintain communication with program manager, staff members, and vendors to ensure adherence to approved protocols
  • Ensure that operations are in legal compliance with local and national regulations, as well military regulations, customs and traditions.
  • Serves as a technical advisor for short and long-term objectives
  • Develop economic and business case analysis and other financial models, prepare white papers, justifications, alternatives, and recommendations, and participate and support efforts associated with developing a Strategic Plan, Operating Plan and other command and corporate initiatives
  • Delivers status presentations to customers and leaders as needed, keeping them informed of delivery and/or production schedules.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Business Operations Specialists (Subject Matter Expert I*) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • High School diploma or GED; Training in business analysis.
  • At least eight (8) years of hands-on experience in one of the following areas: business financial analysis, continual process improvement, communication techniques or managing data for large organizations.
  • This individual must have experience working with industry/government executive level personnel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SECNAV, OPNAV and OSD policy and documentation related to management, operations and life-cycle management of military acquisition programs.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time management skill with strong attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to work with cross-functional groups, coordinated work activities at all levels, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build internal/external relationships.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software and web-based applications such as those used in manufacturing operations.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must possess a SECRET clearance or be able to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
