DEPARTMENT: Radiology SALARY: $28.52 - $46.52/HR (Shift Differentials - $2.50/HR for weekends and $4.00/HR for Nights) Sign On Retention Incentive For a limited time, sign-on bonuses will be available to eligible candidates for this position on a first-come, first-serve basis. BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY: Employees under this classification may work with patients under the effects of sedation, or work with acute-care patients in ICU, Level I Trauma patients, Burn Unit, advanced imaging in the OR utilizing the interoperative AIRO CT unit. Work in areas with 24/7 staffing expectations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of advanced imaging protocols such as CT Colonography, CT Cardiac, Stroke perfusion, Trauma and imaging for Radiation Therapy Planning. Assist with procedure protocols and performance for a vast range of acuity level of patients such as ICU, Trauma, General Anesthesia, Sedation and IP in order to provide for the psychological and physical needs of patients for imaging Evaluate images for technical quality, label with the appropriate Priority level to flow to correct list for reading by the Radiologist. Maintain accurate patient records. Provide orientation for new technologists. Understand and use the image archival system (PACS). Operate specialized equipment such as the interoperative CT unit - AIRO CT unit, an insufflator for CT Colonography and the integrated CT unit - Nexarus Edge Plus Artis System for biopsies and procedures. Provide education and training for student technologists. Assist with education and training of new physicians (interns, residents, fellows and attending's) if applicable. Assist radiologists and physicists in developing new protocols and techniques that are unique to MUHC. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General supervision is received from the Manager or Supervisor of Radiology. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervision over Student Tech Assistants and Students performing clinicals. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
