Summary: Under the general supervision of Pediatric Behavioral Health Nursing Responsibilities: Participates in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment: Develops a clear understanding of trauma and displays an empathetic Always maintains safety through close observation of the patient. Demonstrates appropriate critical incident follow-up skills through Completes other documentation applicable to the event including safety Handles crisis situations in a safe effective manner which is Demonstrates ability to set consistent and supportive therapeutic limits Actively engages with assigned child(ren) throughout the shift. Manages aggressive/destructive behavior by providing timely therapeutic Assists in placing patients in seclusion and/or restraints according to Assists in patient belongings and room searches as assigned. Participates in the development of therapeutic behavior plans: Demonstrates analytical skills and an understanding of psychiatric Through therapeutic rapport creates participates and organizes Supports and contributes to the development of behavioral treatment Communicates individual patient plans in an ongoing manner to the Demonstrates and consistently models interpersonal and communication Adheres to corporate hospital departmental and unit policies and Maintains current CPR certification. Maintains current certification in crisis management. Attends peer review supervision and staff meetings as assigned. Consistently follows all program-based policies and procedures. Attends staff development as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Other information: EDUCATION: Baccalaureate in Psychology or related Human Service field Preferred EXPERIENCE: Six months to one year of direct childcare work with emotionally Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Hospital environment with occasional stressful conditions associated May be required to assist with high acuity situations including but May be required to provide support during patient transport and Independent Action: Responds to individual patient-care situations demonstrating knowledge Performs independently within program policies and practices.
