  • Base Pay Range: $14.50 per hour PRN



  • Special Pay: Additional $2.50 per hour until 12/7/24



  • Shift Differentials: Additional $2 per hour for evening/weekend shift

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION




  • Disassemble, clean, assemble and test patient care equipment for proper functioning; route cleaned equipment to appropriate holding areas.
  • Perform and participate in the decontamination and cleaning of all instrumentation received, which included and is not limited to instrumentation and equipment received from all units according to established standards and procedures.
  • Perform operation of various washers and cleaners as well as manually cleaning instruments and equipment as prescribed by established standards and procedures.
  • Prepare case carts and trays for decontamination and load them into washers and/or sterilizers as prescribed by procedure.
  • Use chemicals in the appropriate fashion taking into consideration the intended use of the chemical as well as the chemical's function; knowledge of the appropriate PPE is also necessary.
  • Use computers for logging trays, equipment, and case carts.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification by HSPA within one (1) year of hire as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of some college work.

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 lbs. and occasionally move objects up to 25 lbs.

This role may also routinely come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
