Postdoctoral Associate | Bioengineering (3D Bioprinting) Jalili and Robson Labs Farmington, CT Role Description: The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine seeks a talented Postdoctoral Associate with a background in bioengineering and a keen interest in biological research. Led by Sasan Jalili and Paul Robson, with technical guidance from a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to independent and collaborative research projects. These projects will entail the creative utilization of 3D bioprinting, leveraging the state-of-the-art bioprinting facilities at JAX. This will involve using patient-derived organoids and cell lines to replicate both healthy and diseased human organs. Additionally, the bioprinting work will be partially integrated with organ-on-chip platforms, contributing to the advancement of functional organ-level tissues. The Robson lab utilizes advanced molecular, cellular, and stem cell biology approaches to study evolution, development, and disease relevant to the human condition. Simultaneously, the Jalili Lab is focused on interrogating the host immunity, microbiome and their interface using different engineering tools in the context of infectious diseases, autoimmunity and cancer. Part of the bioprinting work will be merged with organ-on-chip platforms to create a more advanced functional organ-level tissues. We welcome applicants from many backgrounds, including biomedical engineering, biomaterials science, microfluidics, bioprinting, immune engineering or related fields. This role offers the opportunity to explore and foster collaborations with professionals in bioengineering, biology, immunology, microbiology, and clinical research across the Jackson Laboratory, University of Connecticut, UConn Health, and beyond. As a Postdoctoral Associate, you will spearhead exciting projects that apply a broad range of cutting-edge technologies, encompassing bioprinting, microfabrication, Organ on Chip development, organoid culture, microbiome sequencing, and single-cell transcriptomics.
