Shift: PRN during Monday - Friday, 8 - 5 MU Health Care is looking for a dynamic and compassionate Mobile Mammography Van Driver/PSR to join our team. Learn more about living in Columbia, MO. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Process patient check-in, check-out, Batching, scheduling, bump, cancel, and no-show appointments. Effectively utilize computer applications such as IDX / GE, PCS, Cerner, and etc. Process billing of van patient visits through MARS and arrival of van patient exams in RadNet (radiology computer systems). Request, prepare, and ensure the completeness of the patient medical record and physician orders; Maintain working knowledge of all office equipment, fax, copiers, phones, etc. Validate patient demographics, insurance, pre-certification, prior authorization, and referrals. Accurately manage copay collections and prepare accurate billing documents utilizing knowledge of ICD-9, CPT-4 coding, and managed care plans. Obtain signatures and process hold bills. Ensure proper maintenance of the van by performing routine driver maintenance and scheduling all routine vehicle maintenance. Maintain the general appearance of the waiting room, reception area, offices; straighten magazines, chairs and other light furniture. Operate the mobile mammography van and hydraulic vehicle attachments while transporting employees and clinical equipment to offsite clinics and locations. Understand and subscribe to the Culture of "Yes" to care, deliver, innovate, and serve our patients. Communicate any expected delays to patient and ancillary service departments. Collaborate with patients, families and/or staff in handling and resolving problems that may occur during the course of visit. Greet, escort, answer phone system, handle and/or direct call to appropriate area, place calls as requested by supervisor, use excellent guest relations skills in all interactions with patients, visitors, and staff. Participate in service monitors and quality improvement programs. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to enter data into computer is necessary. Ability to keep pace with a high volume of patients while performing multiple, sometimes complex tasks is necessary. Ability to operate a large motor vehicle. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired. Two (2) years of experience with frontline customer service and guest relations duties and skills. Commercial with airbrakes driver license within four (4) months as a condition of continued employment in this job classification; Class B for Missouri residents. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in health care and medical terminology. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
