ABOUT THE JOB

Assist financial planning leaders in the coordination of operating and/or capital budget process including budget development, monitoring, reporting, for both accounting and budget systems. Leads the implementation of new or changes to existing information technology systems and process improvements. Conducts quality control measure to ensure financial reporting accuracy.

SALARY RANGE $68,266 - $111,426

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide leadership in the coordination and development of MUHC's annual operating budget. Provide training to managers. Design, develop, maintain and present executive and management level reports for monitoring actual spending compared to the budget. Provide monthly updates to leadership on budget variances. Monitor variances and reallocation of resources from budget pools.

Serve as expert resource in operational budgeting, financial reporting, and maintaining/application of budgeting tools. Conduct quality control efforts to ensure operating budgets and financial reporting accuracy.

For operating budgets, oversee the daily/monthly review of budget variances to assure proper recording of operating revenues and expenses. Provide support to leaders in understanding budget guidelines, standards and procedures for budget allocations, volume projections, expenditures, contracts, and revenues. Monitor and evaluate operating budget and actual variances to ensure compliance, fiscal stewardship, and accurate reporting. Provide support to leaders in understanding and use of a variety of financial and budget reporting resources.

Assist in analysis and management of transactions in accordance with University and MU Health Care policies and procedures.

Prepare various financial reports of MU Health Care and provide assistance to administrators and managers with financial data analysis and policy interpretation.

May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.

Five (5) years of experience in accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by Missouri Board of Accountancy

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
