Bachelor's degree in exercise science, fitness and nutrition, health promotion, or a related field. Personal training or specialty group fitness instruction certification within six (6) months as a condition of continued employment in this job classification: - American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) - American Council on Exercise (ACE) - International Fitness Professionals Association (IFPA) - National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) - National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF) - National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) - National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) - National Federation of Personal Trainers (NFPT) - National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) - World Instructor Training Schools (WITS) - other applicable certification approved by department.
