THE ROLE:

The FTE TV team is seeking an experienced RTL/DFx lead to support our expanding test vehicle roadmap.

We are AMD's technology validation team, which is a group within our Technology Operations department.The group is primarily located in central Texas but interfaces with support teams across the globe. Members of the technology validation team are responsible for driving advanced technology evaluations to ensure successful AMD products launches. The team delivers critical insight on yield, performance, and reliability. The team is also responsible for evaluations of AMD's proprietary IP. The work done by the technology validation team paves the way for AMD's product roadmap and ensures informed decision making by the executive team. The team interfaces directly with all of AMD's internal and external customers and suppliers. The unique features of this team within AMD is it's focus on end-to-end ownership of a project (Scope->Design->Test), a broad internal customer base, and emerging foundry technology.

The ideal candidate for our team will possess strong problem solving skills. You are a creative thinker, comfortable digging in to solve new and challenging problems. You are a team player and a fast-learner with strong communication skills and the drive to grow quickly.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collecting and vetting objectives for Si evaluation from stakeholders
  • Translating design objectives into readable and synthesizable RTL/Verilog
  • Development, maintenance, and enhancement of an RTL code repository
  • Inventing new design collateral to enhance Si technology evaluation.
  • Delivering code to the Design Verification team and supporting debug
  • Optimizing design to meet power, performance, and area requirements.
  • Working with physical design/layout team to ensure tapeout schedules
  • Driving adoption of new and innovative DFx strategies
  • Creating well written block level design documentation
  • Participation in post silicon functional and performance debug and tuning

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Proven IC design experience
  • Expert level in RTL/Verilog
  • Deep understanding of VLSI DFx strategies (ex. JTAG, BIST, ATPG, Boundary Scan)
  • Knowledge of end-to-end design flow and familiarity with EDA tools (ex. Synopsys, Cadence)
  • Excellent scripting skills (ex. Perl, C shell, Python).

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS and M.S in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
