The Cytology Supervisor provides supervision over Cytopathology Laboratory for Department of Anatomic Pathology, to include but not limited to administrative functions; Cytopathology educational instruction; selection, evaluation and discipline of personnel; quality control and microscopic examination of cell preparations.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Certified as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Specialist in Cytotechnology SCT (ASCP) certification preferred
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current CT (ASCP) Current SCT (ASCP) certification preferred
Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of four (4) years of clinical work experience as a Cytotechnologist with at least two (2) years in a leadership role (senior/lead level with increased responsibility)

Education/training REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree in Health Science (Cytotechnology Track) from an accredited program
Education/training PREFERRED: Masters Degree in Cytotechnology or Clinical Lab Science from an accredited program
Independent action(s) required: Independently resolves operational and administrative issues.
Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Supervise Cytopathology Laboratory functions. Administration functions to include management reports as required. Cytopathology educational training. Quality Control of Technologists and laboratory.
