Job Description

  • Health, Counseling, and Disability Access Services are seeking experienced and skilled therapists who can work with a diverse clinical population with a wide range of needs, as well as to support our efforts to enhance our services to serve all students.
  • In addition to primary responsibilities to provide individual and group therapy, staff are involved in different clinic aspects: outreach, access coordination, group therapy, and community engagement. The successful candidate will possess expertise with diverse populations as well as an understanding of intersectionality and how it impacts the daily lives of students.
  • Duties include individual and group counseling/therapy; crisis intervention; consultation; and supervision of clinical graduate interns.
  • There is also an emphasis on connecting with students on campus to promote Counseling Services as a relevant and beneficial resource to all students.
  • We are seeking a professional who is committed to the work of university counseling centers and who wishes to join a dynamic staff seeking ways to better meet the mental health needs of the campus population.
  • Cultural competence is of utmost importance. The successful candidate will value a multifaceted approach involving strongly linked clinical and training efforts, consultation with the campus, mental health prevention/early intervention, multicultural values/awareness, and collaborative campus connections.
  • We seek individuals who are collaborative in nature, have strong communication skills, practice good self-care, maintain healthy boundaries, and possess the ability to manage the workload while promoting a positive atmosphere and healthy relationships.

Shift

Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work and relevant licensure (or eligible to be licensed within 12 months) within the State of Missouri.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work is necessary.
  • University counseling center experience is highly desirable.
  • Desirable skills include interest and experience in providing and promoting mental health services to a wider community, connecting and engaging utilizing a brief therapy model, crisis intervention, hospitalization experience, and work with more complex cases.
  • Current full licensure as a mental health professional in the State of Missouri (LP, LPC, LCSW, LMFT), or similarly licensed for independent practice in another state and able to gain Missouri licensure within 6 months of hire.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $60,000-$65,000 annually
Grade: GGS-10
University Title: COUNS HLTH/WELFARE/WELLNESS SR
