Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor, Specialty Pharmacy - Industry City.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for providing direct supervision and oversight of staff practicing at the NYU specialty pharmacy dispensing
location. Responsible for operational and distributive aspects that pertain to the pharmacy dispensing site. Assist the
Director of Specialty Pharmacy in coordinating the activities of the pharmacy operations team. Implements and evaluates
process and system changes to help improve efficiency and reduce the likelihood of occurrence and recurrence of errors.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrate knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and act as direct supervisor for specialty pharmacystaff working within the dispensing pharmacy location. Determines needs regarding various assignments andfunctions and recommends changes to the Director of Specialty Pharmacy. Interviews prospective pharmacy staffand makes recommendations regarding hiring to the Director. Explains to the employee what his or herresponsibilities are and the standards to performance. Offers guidance for improving performance to the employeeand defines the expected outcome and time of completion of assignments to employees. Schedules and conductsstaff meetings to address problems and institutes follow up to ensure resolution. Ensures schedules are preparedaccurately and promptly in order to maintain appropriate levels of staff. Completes performance evaluations forstaff. Approaches performance reviews process constructively and utilizes and reviews process for coaching anddevelopment. Makes requests of staff for suggestions and follows up with ideas presented by staff.
    • Other tasks as assigned
    • Maintain awareness of contemporary trends in the specialty pharmacy space through professional literature and by participating in organization meetings, drug manufacturer meetings and seminars
    • Must be able to receive constructive feedback for the purpose of personal and professional development
    • Assist in overseeing internships (students) & pharmacy resident programs
    • Demonstrate working knowledge of specialty pharmacy reimbursement: state, federal, commercial
    • Recommends new systems/methods in relation to staffing which are cost effective. Studies the applicability of newtechnology and makes recommendations to the Director of Specialty Pharmacy
    • Mentors employees, tests competencies to assess comprehension of departmental policies and procedures andimplements corrective action plans. Utilize audit results, quality assurance reports and accident reports/ incidentreports to improve quality and safety of service and recommends new policies and procedures. Updates pharmacypolicy and procedure manual.
    • Assist in obtaining and responsible for maintaining relevant specialty pharmacy accreditations and out of statepharmacy license
    • Knowledge of specialty pharmacy accreditation standards and requirements and maintains specialty pharmacy HRfiles as required by specialty pharmacy accrediting agencies
    • Maintains specialty pharmacy inventory/ accurate inventory counts
    • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal laws in addition to payor and limiteddistribution drug & REMS agreements
    • Monitor and continuously improve performance regarding medication delivery, timeliness and accuracy/assist indevelopment of efficient pharmacy workflows and process design, implementation and standardization
    • Responsible for ensuring safe and accurate dispensation of medications from the specialty pharmacy

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Doctoral degree (Pharm. D.) in Pharmacy with a minimum of 5 years pharmacy experience. Experiencing obtaining and
maintaining specialty pharmacy accreditations (URAC/ ACHC). Two years Pharmacy Management Experience. Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills and leadership qualities..

Required Licenses: Pharmacist License-NYS

Preferred Qualifications:
Management experience within an accredited specialty pharmacy.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $95,637.61 - $159,396.57 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
