The Institute for Human Development (IHD), a University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) is an applied research and training center for human services designed to exemplify the University's goals of engaged scholarship and community partnerships. Its functions include interdisciplinary training, applied research, community program development and information dissemination.

Job Description

The Early Childhood Quality Specialist will work to assess programs and coach teachers or program administrators at community-based early learning programs (childcare programs and schools in the state of Missouri).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct program observations of teachers or administrators in Missouri
  • Schedule and implement evidence-based coaching sessions with teachers or administrators
  • Complete coaching session reports
  • Select and disseminate resources to support teachers or administrators based on their needs
  • Participate in training for observation instruments and coaching methods
  • Establish and maintain certification on observation instruments
  • Engage in reflective supervision of practice
  • Collaborate with Early Childhood team members and other IHD employees
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, business management, or closely related field
  • 3 years' experience in early learning or educational program administration
  • Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood or business management best practices
  • Experience conducting program- or classroom-based assessment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of computer technology (MS Office 365, Zoom, web-based applications, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Actively contributes to program team
Anticipated Hiring Range

Starts at $51,875.20 annually commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.

The Early Childhood Quality Specialist will be part of a statewide team serving all regional areas across Missouri. The position can accommodate and supports a fully remote work schedule with occasional trips to Kansas City, Missouri as required.
