JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Food Science Chromatography Core intheCollegeofAgricultural Sciences (UniversityPark campus)isseeking a candidate for a Research Technologist tosupport ongoing research projects relatedtofermentation sciences, wine chemistry, grape development, as well as contract analysis services. The individual will work closely with students and post-docs in several different chemistry-focused labs in the Food Science Department. Their duties will include sample preparation, data collection, and other lab-related duties as needed. The position's responsibility also includes tracking and ordering supplies, lab organization, and EHS reporting. This is a limited term position funded for one year from date of hire with good possibility of refunding. Education and Experience: Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in a biology or chemistry-related area, such as Food Science, Plant Science, etc. and one year or more of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience with advanced chemical analysis practices such as HPLC or GCMS.Successful candidates will be able to work independently and have great organizational skills as well as a curious mind with a desire to learn new techniques.
