Job Summary:

The Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist works with corporate and market leadership to manage potential risk associated with all aspects of company operations. Ensures compliance with all applicable safety related regulations (i.e. OSHA, DOT, EPA).

Proactively directs, implements, and improves Clear Channel's safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains and improves upon our existing culture of health and safety.
  • Assists in developing, upgrading, and implementing safety policies and procedures to comply with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Evaluates market operations to monitor and ensure compliance to policies and laws.
  • Advises Vice President, Operations & Safety on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
  • Performs safety assessments, prepares written reports, and certifies recommended corrective or preventive measures are completed in a timely manner.
  • Conducts investigations after serious incidents, identifies possible causes, and develops plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Leads market level training and partners with markets to ensure training is current.
  • Provides guidance to markets on environmental issues, including supporting ESG Initiatives.
  • Analyzes claim trends and implements pro-active measures.
  • Partners with Internal Audit to ensure market compliance to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with internal and external resources to evaluate safety equipment, training resources and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Maintains and manages company safety metrics, provides reporting and dashboards, as well as conducts reviews with corporate and market leadership.
  • Maintains Corporate level safety files and records.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

Job Qualifications

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional strongly preferred.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years' related work experience in a safety-specific role required.
  • Experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements.

Skills

  • Knowledge of field level operations in construction, utilities, or like field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Capable of multi-tasking and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including ability to present in a clear and concise manner.
  • Self-starter with an ability to review processes/procedures with an eye for improvement.
  • Able to partner successfully with internal and external groups.
  • Outstanding observational skills with a strong ability to identify issues or concerns.

Physical Demands

  • Employee must have the ability to sit and/or stand at a desk for a minimum of 8 hours a day and complete tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.
  • The employee must have the ability to lift and move items up to 15 pounds.
  • Employee must have the ability to see written documents, computer screens and to adjust focus.
  • This job is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

Other Requirements

  • Able to travel outside of the office 25% of the time for client meetings, corporate meetings, and industry events.
