Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach Campus is seeking two (2) Athletic Facilities Interns. These internships offers a unique experience of working hands-on in all aspects of Athletics in a way that most major universities cannot offer.

The outdoor facilities intern will gain experience in the daily upkeep of NCAA Division II outdoor athletic venues including Baseball, Softball, Men's & Women's Soccer, Men's & Women's Tennis, Men's & Women's Track & Field, Men's & Women's Lacrosse, and Men's and Women's Cross-Country facilities.

The indoor facilities intern will gain experience in operating the ICI Center which is home to Men's & Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Cheerleading and University Special Events.

Both interns will be involved in all phases of facilities management, as well as day to day operations and Athletic facility requests.

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Promote student employee success through the recruitment, supervision, and training of the support staff.
  • Lead student employees in athletic & special event setup, management, transition, and breakdown.
  • Aid in the coordination of internal & external special events.
  • Secure and supervise all facilities.

Schedule: Schedule will vary and must be available on nights and weekends.

Compensation: Interns receive a total compensation of $21,840 for the duration of the 10-month internship. In addition, this internship offers an optional university meal plan (taxable). This internship does not include any fringe benefits such as housing or health insurance.

Duration: 10 months: August 2024 through June 2025 (Exact start/end dates are flexible)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or three (3) or more years of study in a facilities management degree program or related work experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
