Job Description

The College of Arts & Sciences (COAS) at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide Campus (ERAU-W) seeks a full-time faculty member eligible for the rank of tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Technology, Applied Mathematics or Statistics/Data Science, or a related field, with a strong record of interdisciplinary collaboration.

This is a fully remote online position (U.S.-based) with no relocation required; travel will be required at least once per year to attend commencement and mandatory college meetings as well as relevant other events.

The anticipated start date for this faculty appointment is January 2025 or later depending on the availability of the final candidate.

The Department of Mathematics, Science and Technology includes a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies as well as minors in Airport Baggage Handling Systems Implementation, Applied Data Science, Environmental Science, Mathematics, and Military Studies. Faculty are active scholars in their disciplines and collaborators across the college and with external partners.

The successful candidate will teach in several of the above programs based on their qualifications. The position will also contribute to teaching in the General Education program. Teaching modalities primarily include asynchronous and synchronous online delivery. A limited number of face-to-face offerings may be available based on faculty location.

The successful candidate will maintain an exemplary level of research and scholarly activity. ERAU offers a variety of internal research support programs, including college- and university-level funding opportunities. As such, the faculty member will be expected to actively and substantively contribute to the college's evolving research agenda and external grant activities by strengthening the science and technology focus, including in cross-departmental collaboration.

Service responsibilities for this candidate are likely to include contributing to student success through recruitment and retention efforts, program development, and participation on departmental, college, and/or university committees.
