Description Acara Solutions is seeking an EHS Manager with out partner located out in Plattsburgh, NY who specializes in transportation Manufacturing Here is what you will get: Pay Rate: $41-$43/hr Shift: Onsite M-F 7am to 3:30pm PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Ensure/provide a safe and healthy environment to our people and to our contractors. Minimize impacts on the Environment (environmental footprint of operations & management of historical pollution). Protect assets and reduce risks of business interruption resulting from fire and natural catastrophes Here is what you will do: Support Site Management in achieving EHS performance Drive the implementation of EHS policy on the field according to the Region/Country-Cluster guidelines and targets, and the improvement of EHS results in the site. Advice, help, coach, support operational management in the EHS actions implementation to reach EHS objectives. Prepare the local yearly EHS plan consistent strategy and objectives. Mobilize and coordinate with others to meet those objectives and deploy the plan. Monitor the right deployment of the plan. Ensure EHS Risk Assessment is done & appropriate measures to control risks are defined for the Site. Prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans at Site level. Make sure activities of sub-contractors are under control with respect to EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operational areas. Lead the EHS function in the site Monitor, assist, coach, assess, develop the EHS teams in the site Conduct induction programs for new EHS people in the site. Develop Site EHS Management System Develop, deploy and maintain the local procedures and tools applicable to the Site specific for EHS Management System in line with Transport & Country/Cluster EHS Management System Ensure that EHS standards and tools (Zero Deviation Plan (ZDP) Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Business or Engineering Minimum of 7 years in an EHS role Experience in manufacturing sites or Regional Centers Good knowledge Understanding of ISO14001 and ISO45001 Deep knowledge of local legal requirements.
