Here's what you'd do:

  • We are currently looking for an ambitious R&D Senior Robotics Engineer to join our Endovascular Robotics business within Advanced Therapies.
  • We are a global technology leader in robotic-assisted vascular interventions.
  • We believe the combination of endovascular robotics, image guidance, and dedicated devices will change the way neurovascular procedures are done in the future, enabling better outcomes and enabling our customers to provide better access to care.
  • Develop the complex electromechanical systems of the next-generation robotic platform.
  • Apply advanced analytical methodologies, including mathematical/numerical modeling and simulations, to design, develop, and optimize state-of-the-art mechanical systems.
  • Utilize mechanical engineering design principles of capital equipment and mechanisms and apply static, dynamic, and kinematic analyses.
  • Design and develop mechanical subsystems, including concept generation, CAD design, analyses, documentation, verification, Design for Manufacturing and assembly, and Design for Reliability for current and new products.
  • Perform forward and inverse kinematics, finite element analysis of components and assemblies, 3D tolerance analysis, and different types of modeling using Simulink, Simscape, or MATLAB programming.
  • Participate in hands-on activities, including engineering tests and characterizations.
  • Post-process the corresponding test results using mechanical engineering principles and statistical theories.
  • Implement best practices in design methodologies, development processes, and tools.
  • Scout new tools and techniques, internalize and train others.
  • Planned, developed, and coordinated different pieces of training as needed.
  • Document the process, design description, test protocols, and reports.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $75.00 / hr.

Hours: 40 hrs./Week (1st shift)

Length: Contract (12 Months)

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • PhD Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in product development (mechanical-machine design).
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in using analytical and simulation tools, including MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, SolidWorks CAD modeling, SolidWorks SIM, SolidWorks Motion Analysis, CETOL, FEA analysis (ANSYS), Tolerance, and Statistical analysis tools, LabVIEW, with sensors and DAQ systems.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in mechanical engineering design principles of capital equipment and modeling such systems using statics, dynamics, kinematics, and vibration analyses in different product life cycle phases.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience with current development tools, software, practices, and processes.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Outstanding academic background with a demonstrated record for high-impact research.
  • Experience in medical robotics.
  • Eager to learn new tools and techniques and train others.
  • Experience with motion control and applied control theories.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to apply advanced analytical and problem-solving methodologies, including mathematical modeling, simulations, and control theories, to design, develop, and optimize state-of-the-art complex mechanical systems.
