The Pennsylvania State University Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is seeking an Industrial Hygienist with broad technical expertise and program management experience.This position is located at the University Park campus and provides industrial hygiene support to all University locations (including all Commonwealth campuses and research locations), except the Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine. Responsibilities include:
Education and experience: Minimally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related discipline plus six years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Position requires a thorough understanding of industrial hygiene practices along with knowledge of occupational safety and environmental protection principles and regulations.Demonstrated experience communicating technical information to a wide range of audiences is necessary. The candidate must be able to achieve medical clearance and be able to wear respiratory protection.This position is required to respond to emergencies involving health hazards as directed. Recognition as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred. Background check: This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
