Description Acara Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client in the City of Buffalo! Type: Contract to Direct, must pass the Civil Service Exam to be brought on as a direct hire Salary: $65,200 Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM *Residence in the City of Buffalo is a requirement* 14201: Downtown Buffalo 14202: Downtown Buffalo / Medical Campus 14203: Canalside / Buffalo's West Side 14204: Old First Ward / Buffalo River 14205: East Side 14206: South Buffalo 14207: Black Rock / Riverside 14208: Hamlin Park / Medical Campus 14209: Elmwood Village 14210: South Buffalo 14211: East Side 14212: Broadway-Fillmore 14213: Grant-Ferry 14214: University District 14215: Kensington 14216: North Buffalo Responsibilities: Handle general accounting tasks, including preparing and posting journal entries. Assist in summarizing and reconciling daily and monthly financial reports, including payroll and departmental revenues. Reconcile bank statements with book cash balances. Oversee records related to public utility tax reports, Employee Retirement System, and other city-related accounts. Maintain fixed asset inventory records for the City of Buffalo. Assign account numbers for new revenues and appropriations. Assist with grant reporting and preparation of financial schedules for auditors. Prepare financial statements and daily cash reports. Manage vendor tax identification and prepare IRS 1099 forms. Assist in payroll tax report preparation and pre-audit purchase orders, contracts, and work orders. Utilize financial software and word processing tools for accounting tasks. Perform related duties as required. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: Master's degree from an accredited college or university including or supplemented by 24 credit hours in Accounting/Auditing and two years of full-time accounting or auditing experience OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university including or supplemented by 24 credit hours in Accounting/Auditing and three years of full-time accounting or auditing experience OR Associate degree from accredited college, university or business institute including or supplemented by 15 credit hours in Accounting/Auditing and five years of full-time accounting or auditing experience Aleron companies (Acara Solutions, Aleron Shared Resources, Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRise, Viaduct) are Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employers.
