Genentech seeks a highly motivated Senior AI Scientist to join the Single Cell Genomics Methods and Models group within the BRAID (Biology Research | AI Development) department in Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED). Our group is dedicated to developing the next generation of Machine Learning models to transform how we use transcriptomics data to find targets, understand disease biology, and model patient populations. We are committed to driving innovation through cutting-edge ML methods with real-world impact in the drug discovery field. The Opportunity This position is for a genomics-oriented ML specialist to build genomics-based foundation models as part of a nimble and creative team. This person is expected to bring an in-depth understanding of scRNAseq data, experience training various neural network models, and a can-do attitude. You will collaborate closely with an existing team of software developers, machine learning experts, and computational biologists to develop and train large models on massive internal scRNAseq data collections to guide target discovery and clinical development decision-making.
