JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life is seeking an Associate Director for Community Development & Belonging to serve as a member of the leadership team and provide oversight and leadership for chapter coaching, council development, community and belonging initiatives, and scholarships. This position will assist the Director in ongoing strategic planning and the execution of the Fraternity & Sorority Life mission and purpose for a community of diverse students, chapters, and governing councils. The purpose of Fraternity & Sorority Life at Penn State is to support the mission and goals of the university, strengthen the scholarship and build the character and integrity of our members, promote brotherhood, sisterhood, and siblinghood, develop leadership, engage State College through community service and philanthropic efforts, and affirm personal and organizational responsibility. This position provides support to chapter advisors and local house corporation personnel, will represent Student Affairs and OFSL on various committees, and establish and grow relationships with internal partners such as Student Leadership & Involvement, Associated Student Activities, and DEIB units, as well as many external stakeholders. This position reports to the Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life and will supervise a team of three Assistant Directors with collective responsibility for advising and policy implementation for new members and executive board officers within a fraternity and sorority community of approximately 70 chapters and 4 distinct councils. Education and Experience: The position requires a bachelor's degree or higher, 8+ years of related experience, and 3+ years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. A willingness and ability to work flexible hours to support night and weekend activities is required. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check may be required in addition to standard background checks.
