Rutgers New Jersey Medical School seeks applicants for the per-diem faculty position in the Health Equity-based curriculum. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D., MD/DO, or equivalent degree in Family Medicine, or a related discipline. The successful candidate will demonstrate mastery of the requisite knowledge to teach across multiple systems. The faculty would join a cadre of teaching faculty at Rutgers
NJMS who teach foundational science in the pre-clerkship curriculum across Years 1 and 2.
The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Serve as a Learning Community Facilitator
- Facilitate small group sessions for Healing, Humanism, Health Equity I and II longitudinal doctoring courses for Year 1 and 2 students respectively.
- Facilitate small group case-based discussions, physical exam teaching sessions, and Teaching Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (TOSCEs).
- Grade and provide feedback on written and oral presentations, communication skills, and other written assignments.
- Participate in faculty orientations and faculty development sessions to help the Learning Community Facilitator hone their own teaching skills.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Assistant Dean for Pre-clerkship Education and/or Associate Dean of Education.
