The Director of the Rutgers Center for Psychiatric Health and Addiction (RCPHA) will establish a new institute at Rutgers University focused on genomics of psychiatric disorders and addiction, with opportunities to expand the breadth of inquiry in genomics in ensuing years. The Director will build a team of productive academic investigators and develop robust extramurally funded research initiatives in behavioral health and addictions research, leading to consequential contributions to scholarship and advancements in the field of medicine, through basic science, translational, and clinical research in the intersectionality of genomics, population health, bioinformatics, medical informatics, and health disparities. The Director will collaborate with university academic and clinical leadership to integrate these research initiatives systemwide to include Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS), Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) and Rutgers Brain Health Institute to further the strategic mission of the departments and the larger institution. It is expected that RCPHA will be a national and international leader in genomic health, evidenced through participation in and leadership of national and international research consortia and partnership with government and public health entities. Specic responsibilities of the Director include cluster recruitment into RCPHA of leading scholars in the genomics of psychiatric disorders and addiction, with academic appointments in appropriate departments; the development and implementation of collaborative research, training, curricular and academic initiatives through RCPHA in the genomics of psychiatric disorders and addiction, supported by significant extramural funding; participation in and leadership of national and international research efforts in genomic health through professional academic associations and conferences, research consortia, and partnership with public and private research funding agencies; exploration of additional revenue opportunities for RCPHA, including philanthropy; and in partnership with Rutgers leadership, exploration of opportunities to expend the breadth of academic inquiry of RCPHA. In addition, the Director will be responsible for communication, integration and collaboration within the Rutgers system to significantly advance and leverage, rather than duplicate, important resources and initiatives. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
Qualied candidates must have an MD or MD/PhD, with recognized certication in Psychiatry and/or specic education and additional training in healthcare and research leadership. They also must have a career demonstrating successful, externally funded behavioral and/or addictions research. Ideal candidates will be strategic thinkers and visionaries who are innovative, creative and able to develop and mentor a dynamic team, with a proven track-record of large research program development in a complex academic structure. |
