JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Programs Management Fall 2024 Internship Application Deadline: September 08, 2024 Opportunity: The Arboretum at Penn State is offering paid (starting at $14.00/hour) part-time (20 hour/week) internship for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates interested in career paths in event management, environmental education, and related topics. The position is for one 12-week term, with start and end dates negotiable. The internship activities range in scheduling, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Weekday activities take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. outside of the scheduled events. Experience: This internship provides a hands-on introduction to program management, and customer service in a public garden setting. The program will also expose interns to the world of public gardens, integrating education, event planning, volunteer management, public relations skills, and donor support. Primary Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Applicants should be undergraduates, graduate students, or recent graduates and should demonstrate a strong interest in programming for children and adults, environmental education, event management, recreation, and tourism management, conferences and institutes, hospitality, business management, garden or museum studies, or other similar fields. The preferred applicant will demonstrate professional customer service skills or the desire to learn. Strong organizational ability, attention to detail, and familiarity with Microsoft Office suites, and the ability to learn new software and technology will be expected. Preference will be given to candidates who can explain how this opportunity will help them reach their career goals. Requirements:
