JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a candidate for a Research Technologist - Animal Sciences to collect and organize data for the use in reports and other presentations. Maintain and order supplies/equipment as needed for the lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
We are interested in studying intercellular interactions during tissue homeostasis and determining how de-regulated interactions among cells promote cell transformation and tumor progression. We integrate cutting-edge molecular, cellular, and biochemical approaches in combination with mouse tumorigenesis models to find molecular targets and biomarkers for cancer therapy. Currently, one of our major focuses is studying the impact of immune cells and metabolism deregulation on tumor microenvironment in brain tumor progression. We are searching for a highly organized and self-motivated individual, ideally with previous experience in assisting lab members in individual projects. The Research Technologist will be involved in the research studying brain tumor progression and targeted therapy development using tissue culture and mouse tumor models.
