Posting Summary
The Rutgers University Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences invites applications for a postdoctoral associate, starting Fall 2023, with interests in the economics of sea-level change and coastal adaptation.

The candidate will join the Rutgers University Earth System Science & Policy Lab (earthscipol.net), under the direction of Professor Robert Kopp, and its collaborators in the NASA Sea Level Change Team (sealevel.nasa.gov) and the Climate Impact Lab (impactlab.org). The candidate will also have opportunities for engagement with collaborators in the Megalopolitan Coastal Transformation Hub ( MACH), a transdisciplinary research network analyzing coastal climate risk management strategies, which will provide unique opportunities for research, education, outreach, decision support, and professional development.

The postdoctoral associate will work to integrate decision-making under uncertainty into the Climate Impact Lab's model of sea-level rise economics ( DSCIM-Coastal). They will apply this model to value reductions in sea-level projection uncertainty associated with prospective Earth observation missions and improvements in climate modeling.
