PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT: REQUIREMENTS: Proven knowledge of cooperative philosophies and principles. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Proven management and leadership skills including staffing, orientation, coaching, performance evaluations, training, and development, conflict resolution, etc. and the ability to achieve results through others. Proven professional communication, presentation, and customer service skills. Demonstrated supervisory skills and the ability to get work done through others. Proven planning, organization, and problem-solving skills. Proven computer skills and the ability to use technology to enhance business processes. Knowledge for AgVision software is a plus. Normally requires a college degree, preferably in Ag Economics, Ag Marketing or Agri-Business plus 5 to 10 years of experience in marketing and commodity trading. Ability to work extended hours, beyond those considered "normal", during busy time periods. Must be available for meetings during times beyond those considered "normal." Must be willing and able to travel independently and overnight as needed. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Hamel Coop's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ability to successfully interact and communicate with customer base. Responsible for directing the operations and supervising the employees of the company within established policies and procedures. Responsible for the purchasing of grain through all elevator and origination personnel, for establishing cash grain bids, and for the delivery of grain into all markets for elevator and direct purchases. Responsible for oversight of grain hedging strategies and the execution of a risk management program. This includes a thorough understanding of a basis traded merchandising program. Responsible to ensure the optimum efficiency of storage and grain handling equipment. Responsible for both the quantity and quality of all grain inventories. Responsible for general knowledge of our line of feed and seed products, and managing the sale of such products. Maintains proper grain dealer, grain warehouse, and regulatory requirements. Understands general accounting principles and computer literacy. Develops and implements strategic plans, operating and fixed budgets. Performs related duties as assigned.
