Job Summary:

Installs and checks experimental and operational electrical machinery, equipment, and components according to established procedures and specifications. Responsible for analysis, testing, and routine maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. Work with engineering and outside suppliers in the development and implementation of new systems. Assist or train less experienced technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and work on electrical systems and components as it relates to the vehicle being built.
  • Assist and/or facilitate training of Manufacturing Technicians, as directed by value stream leaders.
  • Assist in design work, using CAD and other Engineering software systems to create product documentation.
  • Awareness of regulatory standards - NFPA, DOT, ULC, etc.
  • Provide short-term resolution for design / BOM issues to avoid production delays with guidance from engineering staff.
  • Act as liaison between production process and engineering.
  • Communicate design/BOM issues with recommendations to appropriate team members for long-term resolution.
  • Review & compare sales documentation for accuracy.
  • Troubleshooting of V-Mux, Codesys, and ES-Key multiplex systems or equivalent.
  • Perform testing and diagnostics on all product lines, not exclusive to one line.
  • Work on and resolve service issues in the field.
  • Work with SOC requests helping to install, train and set up.
  • Work with PD and engineering to design and troubleshoot new technology.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with problem-solving techniques (5 why & root cause analysis).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly with hourly production employees and leadership concerning manufacturing initiatives and progress updates.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems- Zuken, CREO, and/ or Auto CAD
  • Strong work ethic, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined.
  • Versatile, flexible, and willing to work with changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute concurrent assignments in a high-pressure environment.

  • Make suggestions for improving product quality, processes, safety, and company profitability.
  • Solid PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of RVIS Electrical standards.
  • Read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate in English.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
  • Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
  • College or technical degree in electrical or electronics a plus.
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical problems.
  • Experience in using electric diagnostic equipment.

Work Environment/Conditions:

  • General office environment with work on the plant floor as required.
