COMPANY: Gateway FS HIRING MANAGER: Gregory Birchler LOCATION: Red Bud, IL PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Constructs equipment at farm & commercial grain facilities in a safe and productive manner providing a positive construction experience for patrons. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assembles and installs equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Aligns machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs. Positions steel beams to support machines and equipment, using blueprints and manuals to determine work procedures. Moves machinery and equipment, using hoist, dollies, rollers, and trucks. Signals crane operator to place assemblies and align units. Levels, plumbs and establishes centerlines, using straight edges, levels, and transits. Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundations or other structures, using proper tools and equipment. Replaces defective machine parts or adjusts clearances and alignment of moving parts. Inserts shims, adjusts tension on nuts and bolts, and / or positions parts, using hand tools and measuring instruments, to set specified clearances between moving and stationary parts. Operates vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, boom lifts, passenger vehicles, etc. Interprets construction manuals, and material lists. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Follows Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 1 or more years of retail related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of the basic business principals of inventory management and mechanics. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Must be able to obtain and maintain a CDL. Position requires manual dexterity, ability to use your hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Position requires static strength, the ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Position requires near vision, able to see objects at close range, within a few feet. Frequently exposed or required to:
Ability to travel independently and overnight as needed for extended periods of time to job sites throughout Southern Illinois Ability to work hours other than those considered normal to meet seasonal demands including Saturdays and Sundays. Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position. |
