Overview

The Retail Business Development Manager cultivates and maintains profitable business relationships with local and national businesses maintaining fleets within the assigned geographic territory. Responsibilities include promoting Big O and Break Time products and services through accurately understanding customer needs and creating and presenting customized proposals.

Responsibilities



  • Actively engage current and prospective customers to grow business for all new local and national fleets through fuel and retail automotive tire and service sales.
  • Develop awareness of the business community in applicable markets to identify potential business customers.
  • Actively manage accounts, meeting regularly with key decision makers to review current business and present opportunities to grow business with MFA Petroleum Company.
  • Provide input to sales and purchase demand forecasts, calculating estimates based on sales activities and expected results.
  • Cultivate productive working relationships with customers, vendors and internal resource partners, working closely with management teams, store operations and finance departments to effectively manage business accounts.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the supply chain channel to effectively sell and present the value proposition to the customer.
  • Act as relationship manager for fuel accounts, serving as point person in addressing customer questions and complaints.
  • Professionally transition new relationships for Big O products and services to proper operations staff for ongoing support.
  • Use MFA Petroleum Company resources to increase interactions and grow the book of business.
  • Using in-depth product and service knowledge, develop customized business plans to meet customer needs.
  • Persuasively present business plans to customers, effectively overcoming obstacles to make the sale.
  • Meet and exceed established sales metrics and targets.
  • All MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures. While this job description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, finance, or related field or 3 years' sales experience
  • Three years proven sales experience in fuel sales, automotive, or related field
  • PC proficient, with emphasis on CRM tools, and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to persuasively present information
  • Demonstrated ability to convert or transition leads into profitable sales
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time
  • Ability to organize and analyze data to aid in the decision-making process
  • Ability to set priorities and goals and develop plans for achieving them
  • Possess a "customer first" mentality with a consultative selling approach
  • Strong cognitive ability with a high business and financial acumen
  • Ability to present professionally in virtual and in-person interactions
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to meet Company requirements, including successful pre-employment background and MVR check, and drug test
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
