Accounting Generalist - Evergreen FS - Bloomington, IL

Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Controller, provide accounting support for financial activities to help ensure timely and accurate information. Assists with maintaining, analyzing, and preparing accounting documents. Assists with accounting projects, research, audits, analysis, and reporting.
• Coordinates processing of all energy and propane department invoices with bill of ladings and purchase orders verifying price, quantity, and proper coding prior to scanning and entry into financial accounting system.
• Review and ensure accurate allocation of company use fuel and repairs and maintenance expense for proper financial reporting.
• Corrects errors and inconsistencies in invoicing and tax reports as needed.
• Reconcile grain accounts and manage manual grain truck entries.
• Maintain necessary records to assist in departmental inventory management, location, and department financial statements.
• Assists in inventory and related accounting functions for company operations.
• Assist in setting up manual ACH transactions as needed.
• Assist in approving and entering misc. energy invoices into the accounting system.
• Assist accounts payable with processing invoices and bill of ladings.
• Works closely with accounts payable team to ensure accurate posting.
• Responsible for managing company vehicle license and registration renewals.
• Assist accounting team members as needed with a variety of accounting tasks.
• Prepare agronomy position report monthly for report to board of directors.
• Assist staff in preparation of spreadsheets, projects, or reports.
• Assist in preparation for annual audit.
• May be required to cross-train and fill in for other accounting positions as needed.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Normally requires an associate degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or relevant experience with accounting-related areas including inventory, payables, receivables, billing systems, and overhead.
• Experience with excel and the ability to use accounting systems to enhance business processes; and the ability to learn accounting-related software.
• Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, decision making and skill development.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Evergreen FS, Inc. policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
• Must be willing to work additional hours beyond the normal work week at various times throughout the year such as month end and fiscal year end.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
