NURSE PRACTITIONER The incumbent is a registered professional Nurse Practitioner who is responsible for providing professional nursing services that supplement and complement the professional nursing staff and the medical staff's delivery of patient care services. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards. Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment. Upon Hire required and NP - Nurse Practitioner - Licensed; Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment upon hire required or NPC - Certified Nurse Practitioner upon hire required or ACNP - AACN Acute Care Nurse Practitioner upon hire preferred. BLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required. Health ServicesACLS Advanced life support certification based on the patient population served (ie. ACLS, PALS) upon hire required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Judgment and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be mature, able to set priorities and work independently. Must be able to articulate procedures to patients and families. Excellent physical assessment skills. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
