Position Purpose: This is an entry level position that will work under Project Management supervision to gain skills necessary to manage utility infrastructure electrical construction projects. This position provides a great learning opportunity for developing electrical engineers seeking firsthand knowledge and industry specific experience as they support Project Management in all aspects of their work. Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements
- Identify and report project status and all issues requiring attention to the PM in a timely manner
- Provide ongoing communication and timely identification of pending or actual changes to the work performed that may impact costs, schedule, contract, or customer relationship to the PM
- Gather necessary information to maintain project record drawings, including drawing log, As-Builts, and all updated drawings
- Provide technical support for construction, including participation in construction planning.
- Update/maintain construction schedule
- Interface with diverse on-site construction crews as required ensuring safety is maintained, quality of construction, adherence to overall project schedule, and tracking productivity goals
- Participate in and perform routine safety audits; in addition to ensuring housekeeping, storage, and work practices are adhered to
- Ensure subcontractors activities are performed in accordance with the Purchase Order/Contract
- Prepare and submit all project submittals, including Safety Plans, Environmental Plans, JSA's, Inspection/Testing Results, and Weekly Status and/or Progress Reports to Client

- Must possess a strong work ethic
- Extensive knowledge of engineering construction terms and methods, including construction inspection procedures
- Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret mechanical design drawings and specifications
- Demonstrate the ability to use algebraic formulas, trigonometry tables, and statistical mathematics
- Proven communication, organizational, documentation, interpersonal and negotiations skills
- Excellent computer skills and software proficiency
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer need
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration or equivalent degree
- 0-3 years of Project Management/Construction Management or related experience in the utility construction industry
- Ability to travel to projects throughout the state of Indiana/Ohio
Work Environment
- Must be able to remain standing approximately 50% of the time
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, climbing
- The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and vendors and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions
- Occasionally lifting 40 pounds
