Government Contracting Industry Director

Job Summary

As a Management Consulting Director at RSM, you will work with businesses in diverse industries while managing staff to deliver projects on time, on budget and in line with client expectations. Working on numerous projects per year, you will not only work on delivering the projects and developing the staff, but also identify new opportunities to gain more work with each client. US Federal Government spends over $800B a year in goods and services. From traditional aerospace & defense, to vaccine development, technology R&D, and international aid. Federal government contracting touches nearly every business sector. In joining our growing Management Consulting practice focused on supporting Federal government contractors - you will have the opportunity work across business sectors and provide strategic business solutions to our wide client base across the US and internationally.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant field required
  • CPA/MBA preferred

Experience:

  • 12+ years of relevant, expert level experience in Federal Contracting including, but not limited to in-depth experience with:
    • Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and agency supplements
    • Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
    • DFARS business systems - particularly Accounting, Estimating, Purchasing
    • DCAA audit programs and associated internal control requirements
    • Complex cost allocating structure design and associated cost impacts
    • Developing Forward Pricing Rates
    • CASB Disclosure statement preparation
    • GSA schedules and commercial pricing
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and client relationships
  • Drive internal and external business development activities and regularly identifies and sells new opportunities through various channels
  • Expert understanding of firm capabilities and ability to expand client services across lines of business

License/Certifications:

  • CPA is a plus

  • Strong business acumen and history of demonstrated growth
  • Proven market presence and ability to develop business
  • Ability to collaborate across various business lines and services; working as a unified team
  • Detailed oriented/ability to produce high quality work product
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills - including ability to deliver executive level presentations and business report writing
  • Overall responsibility for engagement/project financials and subsequent impacts on firm financials
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; including ability to prioritize tasks, meet project deadlines, and manage multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Ability to teach, train, and coach staff on both technical and industry required soft skills
  • Responsible for the overall quality of work delivered to clients and facilitating issue resolution with clients
  • Demonstrates industry expertise and able to drive targeting, marketing and training activities within industry. Align on efforts with national industry teams
  • Serve as client service relationship lead and ensure quality client services are delivered. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks.
  • Develop new products, solutions and deliverables for the rapidly changing Federal contracting environment
  • US citizenship required

Software:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $137,200 - $276,100

Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
