Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Communication Specialist for the School of Nursing. The Communication Specialist will play a key role in developing and implementing communication strategies to promote programs, research, interventions and advocacy for the nursing workforce.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Responsible for supporting the overall communications for NJCCN/ NJ-NEW via constant contacts, survey tools (wufoo and Qualtrics), social media platforms (Instagram, FB, X, Linkedln, Podcast, TikTok), website and print media.
- Works with outside vendors and stakeholders to support these efforts.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy. Some experience should include working within academia, non-profit, and healthcare.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Video, audio and photo editing knowledge a plus.
- Familiarity with graphic design software - Adobe suite, Canva or other social-focused graphic designs apps or software, a plus.
- Google Analytics Certifications, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads and SEO experience, a plus.
- Have a connection to legislators and government agencies, media outlets for press releases, a plus.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Strong writing skills.
- Social media knowledge and experience, beyond personal accounts or highly proficient in social media platforms.
- A good eye for photos.
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- Experience with Microsoft tools, social media management tools, virtual meeting platforms (Zoom & Webex), Constant contacts (email invitations, text message service), and WordPress.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
