Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising maintenance and facility activities to ensure equipment and company assets are functional and optimized, while limiting operational delays and associated costs. Reports directly to Manager of Operations.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Guides and supports direct reports to achieve expected results.
  • Direct responsibility for departments employee orientation, training, development and good working and safe practices.
  • Lead and engage team by driving daily SQDC.
  • Ability to work in adverse conditions safely and ensure the safety of personnel.
  • Actively participate in the Safety Committee.
  • Responsible for planning worktime to meet all needs for facilities and maintenance work as required.
  • Oversee alarm and security systems and assure the safety of all personnel within the site's property.
  • Is the first POC for afterhours contact for alarm and security concerns.
  • Assist leadership with layouts, selection of equipment and capex as necessary.
  • Purchase and storage of materials and supplies for the uptake of facilities and machinery.
  • Manage department budget.
  • Work with Engineering, leadership, and/or operations to safely modify existing equipment for new uses, quality improvement or cost reductions.
  • Oversee installation and repair of complex electrical equipment including control panels, relays, circuit breakers and electrical controls.
  • Fabricate new equipment; install new equipment.
  • Design and implement the proactive, preventive, and autonomous maintenance system.
  • Performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance with established regulations.
  • Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities.
  • Based on studies done, will develop and implement plans and program for facility modifications and revision to operating methods.
  • Support with the removal and proper disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Works closely with EHS supervisor to assure compliance with all regulations.
  • Reads, understands, and ensures compliance with all plant safety and regulatory policies and procedures, including but not limited to CAL OSHA, Air Quality, Water Quality, and EPA.
  • Provide metric reporting as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or directed by Manager of Operations and/or GM.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of related responsibilities and supervision experience are required.
  • Four-year degree in engineering or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Demonstrable experience may be accepted in place of credentials.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, electronic controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, cutting, welding, fabrication, and tooling.
  • Must be able to read and follow blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment in all the aforementioned areas.
  • Required ability to use Asset Essentials or similar maintenance software.
  • Required ability in Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Requires moderate physical exertion including lifting up to 50lbs, bending and considerable time standing.

The pay range for this position is $66,560 - $134,600 annually
