Main Duties & Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The
primary purpose of this position is to ensure that
products comply with all relevant regulations and standards. This may include
conducting tests, reviewing documentation, and coordinating with
cross-functional teams to address any compliance issues. The engineer may also
be responsible for staying up to date on regulatory changes and communicating
compliance requirements to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications
Education
and Work Experience:
Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline or a Bachelor's Degree and background in metallurgy/material science.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in heat treatment of steel and experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Regulatory Acumen: Ability to interpret and apply regulations and standards such as 49CFR *178, ISO 9809 and ASTM material specifications.
Physical
Requirements: This position requires the mental
ability to read and comprehend policies, procedures, instructions, etc., to
write reports, to use logic and data to solve problems, to assess needs, to
communicate effectively and varying degrees of independence, judgment, and
discretion. This position requires the physical ability to sit for extended periods, use a computer and
other office equipment. Additionally, the engineer may need to travel to different
facilities or external locations to conduct compliance assessments or audits.
