Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

Reviews
specifications on blueprints to determine materials required and equipment
necessary to fabricate tooling for use in the cold heading manufacturing.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:

Include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.

Troubleshoot die
problems to achieve maximum productivity.

Use precision
measuring devices to ensure quality and verify dimensions, alignments, and
clearances of work done.

Set up
and operate Tool Room equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc.)
holding close tolerances.

Submit
requisitions for supplies as needed and to maintain a clean and safe organized
work area.

Participate in
the tool and fixture design process discussions.

Diagnose die and
fixture problems and make necessary repairs.

Capable of
troubleshooting dimensional issues and adjusting for optimal run conditions in
press to support production schedule.

Utilizes a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to
perform inspection before start, during, and at completion of production run.

Reworks and directs reworking of tools as needed.

Meets and maintains productivity levels and quality requirements
in support of departmental standards, goals, and schedules.

Must possess the
ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures, including
safety guidelines and practices.

Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows
safety regulations.

Qualifications

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Blueprint Reading:

Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Preference
given for machine operation experience.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The
employee is frequently required to walk or stand; reach with hands and arms and
stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move
up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this
job include close vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving
mechanical parts. The noise level in the
work environment is usually very loud.

Training Requirement:

Training
requirement shall be in accordance with Mac Fastener Training Matrix.
