Sales Manager - Flexibles, Equipment, Caps/Closures

The Sales Manager will be responsible for objectives including strategic planning, sales management, and prospecting new clients to help grow the organization. The sales focus of this position is on equipment, "bag-in-box" product line, and Caps/Closures. This position will accelerate new business for the Rapak and Rieke divisions in the TriMas family.

  • A successful candidate for this position is someone who has experience in selling mechanical equipment along with knowledge of the flexibles, and caps business to increase sales.
  • Prospects for potential new customers to increase business.
  • Cold call potential large and major customers as appropriate within the U.S. to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Using knowledge of market and competitors, identifies and develops the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Ensures that data is accurately entered and managed within the company's CRM system.
  • Works collaboratively with cross functional teams to deliver results. TriMas values Teamwork!
  • Presents and clearly articulates updates to customers and management, presentations to internal management quarterly that demonstrate progress in delivering results (TriMas value)
  • Bachelor's degree with a technical background, 10-15 years of experience in Business Development / Sales Management.
  • Experience in selling to the packaging industry.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment, but not the subject matter expert.
  • Full understanding of all phases of the sales process.
  • Values being customer focus and results driven.
  • Experience hunting down new business, including making cold calls, to bring in a high level of new business or a have history of customer activity with existing book of business.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on cross functional teams to deliver results.
  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • Presentation skills (customers and internally)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% (Travel within United States)
