Main Duties & Responsibilities
Principal
Responsibilities:
In this position,
the Chemical Clean Operation must be able to perform chemical clean operating
procedures and additional tasks as required including set ups and operate metal
band sawing and shear machines to cut metal stock to dimensions. Perform
finishing operations which may include honing, wire brushing, rough polishing, grinding,
bending, forming, etc. Must be able to conduct specific tests requiring
controlled ambient air temperature, pressure, and humidity. The parts or
assemblies must be in accordance with all engineering drawings, supplemental
documentation, and specifications. Components and
subassemblies to be prepared include various types of stainless-steel alloys,
nickel-based (Inconel) alloys, commercial pure titanium and titanium alloys,
and aluminum alloys.

Basic
Qualifications (Job Requirements):
Must be capable of operating the complete chemical cleaning system. The ability to understand and execute the regulatory requirements for RSA's wastewater and air emissions permits such as pH adjustment of rinse water before discharge to the RSA clarifier
Must be able to maintain standards set for each chemical tank.
Operate the cleaning tanks for the purpose of cleaning metals prior to welding or assembling of parts. Provide titration specimens for evaluation.
Control the time and temperature cycles for each type of material and solution as prescribed
Must be able to distinguish between different types of metals such as aluminum, steel, titanium, and Inconel
Ability to maintain required finishes, close tolerances (within .0002-.0005") of I.D's, O.D.'S, roundness, perpendicularity and concentricity.
Knowledge of cutting tool feeds, speeds, and best tool life for aerospace materials.
Must be able to perform set ups and operate metal band sawing and shear machines to cut metal stock to dimensions.
Must be able to perform finishing operations which may include honing, wire brushing, rough polishing, grinding, bending, forming, etc.
Must be able to conduct specific tests requiring controlled ambient air temperature, pressure, and humidity.
Must be able to interpret pressure test requirements indicated in manufacturing plans, work orders, acceptance test procedures and engineering drawings.
Adequate and accurate knowledge of inspection test record keeping and calibration requirements of the area equipment.
Must be able to inspect their own work; work with dial calipers, micrometers, tape measure, weight scales, pie tapes, and other measuring equipment as required.
Must be able to work within the operational (work order) standards, blueprint, specs and shop aids to increase efficiency and throughput of assemblies and subassemblies.
Must be able to work without direct supervision and training other employees.
Must be able to maintain a high-level of quality and workmanship.
Must maintain a clean working environment for all machines, tools, and equipment.
Must be able to perform routine duties and other duties as assigned.

Minimum
Education/Experience:

Three plus years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Basic
industrial chemical background with emphasis on managing hazardous chemicals.

Knowledge, Skills
and Abilities:

Must be able to
read, write and speak English is required.
Familiar with computer is helpful.
Must have a
knowledge of and ability to read, interpret and apply applicable blueprints and
specifications
necessary to
effectively perform duties as applied to work assignments within specific areas
of assigned responsibility.

Essential Physical/Mental Abilities Required:
Employee is
regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, required to walk and
sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk
or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Manual
and equipment assisted drum handling is required. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the
duties of this job, the individual occasionally works near moving mechanical
parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or
caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually
moderate.
While performing the duties
of this job, the individual may be required to wear safety protection gear.

The pay range for this position is from $18.00 to $27.00 (hourly).
