General Summary of Position

As aMulti-Modality Technologist I,you will performNuclear Medicine and/or diagnostic medical radiographic exams and fluoroscopic exams in and out of the operating room setting. Mayoperatemammography equipment, magnetic resonance scanner orCT (Computed Tomography)scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. Produces computerized tomographic scanner or magnetic resonance scanner or radiographs of designated anatomical areas. Mayassistphysicians with imaging guidance for biopsy procedures in diagnostic and one of the following: mammography, CT, or ultrasound.

Primary Duties:

  • Acquiresraw data to obtain the best possible image.Assistsphysicians with imaging guidance for biopsy procedures. Enters patient data at start of examination and monitors data acquisition during procedure. Ensures images are of acceptable diagnostic quality and completeness.

  • Instructs anddemonstratesthe Imaging equipment operation and other technical aspects for professional staff and students.

  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Reports any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions. Maintains X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order.Performs preventative maintenance regularly.Notifiesappropriate personnelof equipment malfunctions and repairs needed. 9. Operates control console for each patient's scan, including selection of proper imaging techniques;operatesvarious peripheral hardware.

  • Performs basic radiography and fluoroscopy in and out of the operating room setting. Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Performs IV Access and contrast injections per departmental policy.Requests and orders supply as needed to keep materials on hand.Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered. Ensures quality images.

  • Schedules examinations when needed to ensure smooth flow andoptimal utilizationof equipment. Transfers images to PACS for interpretation and storage. Transfers, positions, and instructs patientsregardingthe procedure to obtain and affect the desired radiographic diagnostic results as specified by the physician.Transportpatients as needed to and from the department.

Qualifications:

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic TechnologistsARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology).

  • Registered bytheNMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board).

  • 1-2years' experiencein diagnostic radiology and/or nuclear medicine.

  • Licensed bythe Stateof Maryland.

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 -
