POSITION TITLE: Plant Production Assistant Manager

POSITION RESPONSIBLE TO: Susan Riley

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Assist in overseeing the production of all grass seed products from the start of releasing production orders to the finish of Completing production orders within SAP, as well as track and report company set Key Process Indicators (KPI).

SPECIFIC CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Release production orders from SAP, print production paperwork for each order, and match these printed materials with correct analysis labels for production.
  • Process daily TACK totals from each line and combine that with production paperwork to track and report Key Process Indicators (KPI) daily to the GEMBA Team.
  • Calculate Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) on each line daily, maintain an OEE spread sheet that tracks OEE percentages, and report OEE percentages to the Production Manger each week.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory of raw products to assure that needed items are on hand for production, but excess inventory is kept to a minimum.
  • Assist in the supervising and coaching of all production employees in an effort to build star employees that are dedicated to the process and determined to produce quality products.
  • Work consistently to improve the process, always looking for a better way that will increase efficiencies, reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Monitor safety at all times, assuring that each production employee is equipped with the needed safety devices and is properly working safely.
  • Assist in solving everyday problems that arise to assure that production stays on track to meet the needs of our customers.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCES NEEDED:

  • Bachelor's degree - preferred
  • SAP experience preferred or willingness to learn.
  • Proficient in Microsoft, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Effective communication skills; written, oral and formal presentation.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to drive projects to completion.
  • Must have teamwork attitude and collaborative skills.
  • Manual labor required in position (i.e., lifting 50 lb. bags materials)
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
