POSITION SUMMARY

As a Corrugator Operator I with Liberty Packaging, you contribute to the growth of our business by being a key player in safely producing quality corrugated products for our customers. Corrugator Operator I positions are assigned to, and are responsible for mastering, one end of our corrugator (wet end or dry end). This role works within a small group to operate portions of our corrugator by helping setup for orders, move rolls of paper using material handling equipment, stacking product, testing for product quality, correctly labeling products, and communicating machine issues to leadership and team members to ensure efficiency and timeliness in production. This full-time position reports directly to a Corrugator Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • On the wet-end of the machine, sets up rolls inside machine, monitors rolls of paper and machine performance, adds rolls when needed to ensure continuous run of the order, and supports continuous run operations during order changeovers by positioning rolls of paper near the machine via power pallet jack
  • On the dry-end of the machine, ensures orders are completely and safely stacked for transport to other areas of the facility, that quality checks are performed and documented according to standard, and that products are correctly identified with load tags
  • Monitors and maintains quality of corrugated paper by performing industry testing and reporting quality issues to plant leadership immediately to maintain accuracy and uphold customer satisfaction
  • Proactively identifies issues and communicates to the team
  • Follow plant safety processes and procedures outlined for machine centers
  • Other duties, as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • 1+ years of work experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with reading a tape measureto 1/16" measurement
  • Previous experience with a computer using skills such as typing, printing and data entry
  • Ability to use math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to read work instructions to identify detailed steps for order completion
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Converting and/or Corrugator experience
  • Previous experience of pneumatic and electric hand tools
