Machine Operator

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Machine Operator is responsible for assisting with production machine operations as necessary to maintain continuous machine operations.

What you will be doing:

• Assist with machine set-up procedures
• Ensure correct paper is set up and check roll sizes and calipers.
• Provide training, guidance, and assistance to production workers as needed to ensure continuous machine production.
• Assist with starting of machine and monitor for operational problems.
• Check the quality of the product.
• Offload empty roll shafts.
• Clean machinery.
• Relieve production workers as necessary
• Check machines before each setup.
• Maintain constant watch for any safety problems.
• Maintain clean, organized and safe work area.
• Perform other functions and duties as assigned or necessary.

• Can operate a crane, truck or motor vehicle, hydraulic lift cart and forklift.
• Analytical/problem-solving skills.
• Possess a sense of urgency and self-motivation.
• Can use wrenches, tape measure pliers and general tools.
• Ability to work independently with machinery and moving parts.
• Can lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Can push and pull up to 200 lbs.
• Can work outside and inside of the facility.
